My Valentine's Day Weekend

I had a wonderful Valentine’s Day this year. I spent the day making Valentine cupcakes for all the kids in our Friday night Children’s Bible Club. Each week the attendance has gone up. This week we had 33 kids in attendance. It was fun surprising them with cupcakes.

Friday I prepared a special treat for all my kids in junior church. It took awhile to make because I average 60 kids in attendance. I printed out cards with Romans 5:8 typed out and of course hearts on them. I tied the cards to bit size candy bars. The kids were very surprised! I wanted the kids to know how much their teacher loved them and to have a reminder of God’s love for them. We are still continuing on in our series “Living God’s Way”. The lesson I taught this Sunday was on “Complaining or Thankfulness”. The week before the lesson was “Pride or Humility”. I pray the kids are learning as much as I am teaching these lessons. The lessons we have had in this series have addressed some very good life issues. My prayer is that the kids will not just learn these truths, but apply them to their lives.

This week I will be going up country with another missionary, Sherry Daniels to spend some time in some orphanages. I’m really excited and can’t wait to hang out with the orphans!
