Two Weeks of Ministry Back to Back (part two)

Last week we had our second ever Vacation Bible School in the Bible Baptist Church of Nyahururu.  Even though some schools were still in session and we had rainy weather every day we had a great attendance!  The kids were excited to be there.  The youth and young adults from Bible Baptist helped run the program and be the team leaders.  They did an excellent job!!!  Our theme for the VBS was "Turned Around".  We learned about different people in the Bible whos lives were turned around.

Each morning the children lined up at the door to enter the church and join their assigned teams.

Taking names and enrolling the children.

We had teams named after the Bible characters we were learning about.

Timo, our game leader.  He did a great job leading the kids in all the games.

Teaching the Bible lesson as Charles interpreted for me.  We had 2 saved on Thursday and 2 on Saturday!  On Sunday the kids invited their parents to come and hear them present their verses and some of the songs they learned during the week.  We had three new families visit Sunday morning!  The kids did a great job with the program for their parents.  I was so proud of them! =)  When Pastor Philip gave the invitation after his sermon 1 of the boys who had been coming to VBS walked down the isle all by himself.  He went up to Pastor Philip and told him he wanted to be saved.  Praise the Lord!  I was sitting on the front row with several of the children.  Tears came to my eyes as I watched with a smile.  It was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen!!!!  The Lord gave us an amazing week!  5 new members in God's family!  Thanks to all who helped!

The kids really enjoyed puppet time.  Thank you to the boys and girls in Wisconsin who raised the finances for this portable puppet stage and puppets.

Our national pastors helped run our puppet time.  Pastor Philip who pastors the Bible Baptist Church in Nyahururu and Pastor Mungai who pastors the Aberdare Baptist Church just outside of Nyahururu.  They did a great job!!

 Game time

Everyone has their game faces on.

They had to fill the egg tray with golf balls and carry it across the field and dump it into the other bucket.

The ones that brought the most visitors for the week went away with prizes!

Two Weeks of Ministry Back to Back

The first week of ministry was in Thika.  I had the privilege of helping with a camp that is held for all our missionary kids here in Kenya and Tanzania.  What a blessing it was to take time to invest in the lives of our missionary kids!  A couple of them feel God wants them to continue being missionaries after Bible college.  Praise the Lord!!  In the picture above are the girls that stayed in my dorm. =) They were really sweet!
