January Prayer Letter

The year 2011 ended in a whirlwind of activity.  Missionaries Ole and ReneĆ© Konnerup had a retreat for all the graduates of the Nairobi Baptist Bible College.  I had the privilege of helping them with all the children of the graduates.  The children enjoyed a day of special activities.  The top picture is one of the graduates and his family that came to the retreat.
The Mt. Kenya Baptist Church in Nanyuki had their first VBS in many years.  It was so good to see the children get excited and bring their friends.  We had a good attendance even though it was December when most families go to their “home place” in the bush for Christmas.  The middle picture is some of the boys working on their memory verses and the third picture is one of our singles and a youth doing our puppet skit for the day.  It was a blessing to see the youth from church step up and help me as team and game leaders.
Thank you for your prayers.  I was able to get completely moved during the two weeks before Christmas and settled into my new house.
I am very excited about the ministry opportunities for 2012!  There will be more Vacation Bible Schools, teacher trainings, Sunday school classes to teach and more souls to reach.  School has started and the AWANA ministry has also started back up along with teaching Bible class in the school in Jua Kali.  The Lord has opened the door for some new ministries starting this year!  This month the singles will come over to my house for their first fellowship.  Some of the ladies in town have been asking me for a ladies Bible study which, if plans go accordingly, I will be leading/hosting it in my home starting in February.
As 2012 begins and I begin my sixth year living in Kenya, I want to express my gratefulness to the Lord for having allowed me to minister to and share Christ with these wonderful people and for your faithful prayer support and sacrificial giving.  You are a vital part of what I do over here.  Thank you so much!
