We have a visiting team of doctors and nurses here in Nanyuki. Some are from the US and others are from here in Kenya. We went out today to place called Mutunda just near a town called Isiolo. We have a baby church-plant there and saw this as a good way to reach out to the community physically and spiritually.
We were not sure how many people we would see, but by lunch time we had seen 122 patients. My job was calling the patients by their assigned numbers and helping the nurses with whatever they needed. I was able to use my Swahili as I called numbers and chatted with the children. =) I even got to hold some babies and calm them as they were checked out. They were so precious!
As the people were standing in lines either to see the nurses or the doctors others were sharing the Gospel with them. All 200 patients heard the Gospel and 20 were saved!!!
We were also able to pass out toothbrushes and toothpaste to all that came. Thank you to the Southland Baptist Church who donated them!
Tomorrow we are going out to the Baraka Baptist Church in Jua Kali were I have been teaching the Maasai children in the nursery school. I am so excited! I pray I might be able to meet some of the parents of the children that I have been teaching. I will try to post pictures as soon as possible.
