My Time in Nanyuki

For starters I flew in a little plane up to Nanyuki. There were more surprises on that plane than there ever are on a roller coaster. =) I did get a good picture of one of our biggest if not "the biggest" slums in Nairobi as we flew over.

I stayed on the property of Mt. Kenya Baptist School. There is nothing like waking up every day to see the beautiful Mt. Kenya! On the weekends (Friday-Sunday) I went out and visited three orphanages. We have a mixed orphanage in Isiolo, a "all boys" orphanage in Timau (sp?), and a mixed orphanage in Naibor. I taught at each one and then passed out gifts of footballs (soccer), skipping ropes (jump), and frisbees to the children. The "all boys" orphanage really got the hang of the frisbees. As I spent time with these orphans I really grew attached to them. We had a sweet time as I tried to converse with them in English. =)

I think I will put some pictures up and write more as I go.

These are two of my orphan friends that I got to spend some "one on one" time with. I really enjoyed trying to converse with them in Swahili. They were two very precious girls!
