The Kids in Jua Kali

All the kids I teach in the nursery school at the Baraka church in Jua Kali.

I have been visiting some missionary friends in Nyahururu. Yesterday we took a matatu (public transport) to a nearby town called Nakuru. We went into a supermarket and found on the lower floor the wholesale part of the store. I thought we had walked into Sam's Club, but of course a Kenyan version of it. :) I went Christmas shopping for my kids in Jua Kali! A church back in the US donated hundreds of toothbrushes and toothpaste. So I bought every child a cup and some other stuff. The cups will be loaded with a toothbrush, tube of toothpaste, school notebook, pencil, bar of soap and a little container of vaseline in it. I can't wait to give them their loaded cups and to see their faces!
